In this story, Squishy the dog is described as being very terrified when she was seen for the first time on the beach of Saipan! Boonie Babies Rescue was contacted by beachgoers because she was in such bad condition.
Bonnie Babies Rescue’s founder, Aria Keilbach, said that her house was so close to the beach that she could be there in five minutes. Squishy was exhausted and weak due to the dehydration and heat. Due to the collar on the dog, Keilbach knew she had been dumped!
In spite of Squishy’s mange, tick disease, and malnourishment, it was obvious she hadn’t been cared for for many weeks! She snapped and barked at Keilbach and her team of volunteers, but was easily caught because she was very weak!
Keilbach wrapped the dog in a towel and took it away. Although she was very scared, she immediately realized that people were trying to help her, so she stopped being aggressive and started wagging her tail.
As time went by, the dog’s wounds healed in leaps and bounds, and she began regrowing her fur! When Keilbach saw how great and beautiful Squishy was, she decided to adopt her! What a happy ending!
