There are people in the world who stand up for animals, but it’s incredible how cruel some people can be to them. Recently, two officers saved six puppies from unimaginable cruelty because they were at the right place at the right time. Several police constables were on the highway when they spotted a man in his 50s standing beside a parked vehicle on the side of the road in Durham, United Kingdom. They observed the man “swinging a sealed bag” on the edge of the bank when they stopped to check everything was in order.
A squealing sound was heard coming from the bag the man had just been swinging, which the officers noticed after turning on their lights. In the bag were six Cocker Spaniel puppies, so young they had not even opened their eyes yet, when the constables investigated and untied it.
“There were fleas all over the puppies, and if we passed by just seconds earlier, we wouldn’t have known,” said PC Liam Vernon.Officer one questioned the driver while officer two arranged to pick up and treat the puppies safely. According to reports, the driver was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty, money laundering, and controlled drug trafficking, and taken into custody. While the investigation continues, the man has been released on bail. In their search for his address, officers also discovered the puppies’ mothers and father.
It has been reported that the dogs are making full recoveries after they were reunited with their puppies and received treatment. Moreover, the department has arranged for the entire litter to be adopted.
Clearly, these puppies were saved just in time before something terrible happened to them, and they deserve a very happy ending. I am a huge dog lover, and so Luke and I have hardly stopped thinking about this job,” PC Liam Vernon said. “We’re just glad we were able to save them – it was just a matter of timing.”
It was such a blessing that these officers were able to save these puppies from such cruel and dangerous hands!
