Even when dogs are placed in loving homes, it takes them time to adjust to their new homes. It is especially common among dogs who come from rough backgrounds. Two best friends help one rescue dog cope with anxiety attacks thanks to their friendship.
According to Newsweek, Ross is the fourth owner of Rex, an English/French mastiff mix who has had a difficult past before he took him in. “Rex has had issues in the past with abusive owners,” Ross told the outlet. “He was nearly put down for what they believed was aggression, but was actually fear and anxiety.” Despite his progress since being rescued, Rex still suffers from anxiety – although he is fortunate to have two good friends who are always willing to lend a helping hand.

A video posted on Reddit recently showed Ross’ other two dogs, Winnie and Huxley, showering Rex with love and kisses to help him through an anxiety attack: The video moved people on the site. One comment on the subreddit r/AnimalsBeingBros reads: “Super cute! Rex is lucky to have such friends.” Ross told Newsweek that the other two dogs help Rex come out of his shell whenever he’s anxious. He has an especially close bond with Winnie, the white dog in the video, who is deaf and also a rescue.

“She just loves him, and he over time is less anxious around her,” the owner told Newsweek. “He almost immediately became calmer when she didn’t hear him growl.
He has also trained Rex to be less anxious over the years that they have been together, Ross says.
Ross said he and his dog were the first dogs he had after his divorce when he was single. “I’ve been rehabbing him for two and a half years and he has come a long way. He is now far less anxious, and far more friendly.”
