In the case of Nubby the puppy, who was born without front legs, the vet recommended euthanizing him after only four hours of life. Nubby’s owner, however, made a different decision.
As a child, Nubby struggled to get to his mom so he could nurse. His mother accepted him, but his siblings pushed him away, making it impossible for Nubby to eat. At that point, Nobby had only been born four hours, so the vet decided that it would be best if he was euthanized.
The Robinsons have adopted and cared for countless homeless dogs and unwanted pets throughout their lives, but Lou, from Texas, had another idea.
Defying the vet’s advice, Lou and her husband took care of Nobby themselves. Lou and her husband fed Nobby from a bottle around the clock, giving him love and security.
Nobby seemed to be doing well at first. “His eyes opened, his ears developed. You could hear him bark, he could smell and recognize voices,” Loui Robinson told The Dodo. Suddenly, everything changed.
In the first month of Nobby’s life, he suddenly began sneezing. He could no longer poop, and he began blowing little bubbles from his nose.
Nubby was given antibiotics and placed in an incubator after an X-ray revealed something was wrong with his esophagus. The situation looked dire – but Nobby had a strong will and fighting spirit that stood out. Despite the fact that he was in dire need, he fought for what he was entitled to. And his foster parents fought for it as long as he had the chance to live a good life.
After suffering for a few months, Nobby slowly recovered. Three years later, this wonderful little boy has proven that he can endure anything.
Even though Nobby faces some challenges, he has proven that anything is possible. What’s more, Nobby’s parents have set up a Facebook page so their adventures can be followed.
It appears that Nobby is feeling better than ever based on the updates and photos posted recently.
Despite not being like everyone else, Nobby seems to be a true inspiration. He loves to play and he seems curious about life. Nobby even has his own wheelchair, which helps him get around and play. Even though he differs from everyone else, he proves that being different does not matter.
With Lou and Mark’s help, Nobby has proven that anything is possible. After all he was told that he should be put down by the veterinarian.
