One officer braved a heavy snowstorm to rescue a distressed dog recently. It is always inspiring to see people go the extra mile to help pets in need.
As reported by the Ogden Police Department on Facebook, Animal Service Officer A. Dickman was called about a dog “looking like it was in distress.” According to the report, the dog had got loose, ran away from home, and was now stuck outside during a heavy snowfall. The department reports that ASO Dickman hiked through the heavy snow on the Bonneville Shortline Trail to find the dog, and was able to locate it thankfully.
As a result of the incident, the pet was left distraught and very frightened after all that had happened, but Dickman was able to reunite the pet with its owners, who were “extremely grateful.”
The department praised the officer for going above and beyond to bring this poor dog home safe and sound.” Thank you, ASO Dickman, for your dedication to our Ogden Community!” the Ogden Police Department wrote.
We are so glad this poor dog is back with its family now, safe, warm and free from the ravages of heavy snow. Thank you!
