As the story continues, we will be introduced to Nico, a deaf Dogo Argentino who was thought to be dangerous after being rescued from a shelter and suspected of being used for dog fighting. When Kelly Gibson, of Puggles and Pitties, rescued Nico from the shelter, she planned on euthanizing him, but something extraordinary happened instead.

During Nico’s upset time at the shelter, a volunteer with Mutt Scouts named Nikki Audet snapped a picture of him and treated him like a family member. Here are pictures before and after. When Puggles and Pitties saw Nico, they took a chance on the puppy despite the shelter’s cautions. As shown in the video below, Bridget Swan adopted Nico after seeing the picture.

Nico’s journey would have taken a completely different turn without her and the many kind individuals who assisted him.
