As a stray dog, Eden always greeted Good Samaritans with a subtle tail wag when they would stop by to leave food for her. She always said, ‘Thank you for noticing me’. In the meantime, she is waiting for a forever home in an animal home, and she can’t help but reach through her cage and hold hands with everyone. Hall noticed that people had left food under Eden’s tree, but no one had come to her rescue, so she jumped at the chance to adopt her.
“She was under the tree for weeks and weeks,” Hall said. Her rescuer, Suzette Hall, couldn’t tell exactly why Eden began living under that tree in Southern California, but when she arrived to save her, she could tell she had lived there for years. When Eden saw Hall, she perked up. “She knew she would get help,” Hall said. “She knew it was time for her to stop living under that tree.” Her new friends gave Eden a bath while Hall brought her to the vet. The vet team discovered Eden had a painful skin condition and was severely underweight, so they treated her right away. Her personality blossomed soon after.
“She’s the sweetest dog you’ve ever met,” Hall said. Eden was placed in her own kennel so she could rest and recover. At first, Eden stayed in bed the majority of the time. The hospital employee walked past her kennel one day and saw a single gray and white paw poked through. The two dogs snatched Eden’s paw and squeezed her affectionately. “She wants only to hold our hands,” Hall said. “She’ll hold you by the hand and make the sweetest howl you’ve ever heard. As they squeezed Eden’s paw, Hall said she just wanted to hold our hands. When you hold her hand, she makes the sweetest howl, as if she’s saying, “I love you”
