She gave birth to a litter of puppies without ever walking inside a house after being rescued from an Oklahoma City dog hoarding situation by Country Roads Animal Rescue Society.
Sundae’s face brightened with relief as soon as she sat down to sleep after her foster mother showed her the importance of a warm bed.
In her foster home, Mugglequeen wrote on Reddit, “Sundae is quite polite indoors, gentle, and entirely potty trained. It would be difficult to guess that she’s never been an indoor dog.” Sundae felt safe in the knowledge that she was safe.
The Mugglequeen named her Sundae because she had a face full of chocolate, vanilla, and caramel shades.
After Sundae’s foster mother placed her boyfriend’s shorts on Sundae’s favorite bed, she warmed up to him. She is now the most affectionate baby in the group. Sundae loves to cuddle with her foster mother frequently. Mugglequeen commented on her tendency to lie close to me in bed. I believe she’s just trying to make up for the lack of affection she’s experienced over the past eight years.
Her veterinarian discovered that Sundae, despite being otherwise healthy, is heartworm positive and requires dental work. She is now receiving the medical treatment she needs after a long absence.
She is now left to wait until the perfect family falls in love with her puppies, as those puppies are currently being cared for by other foster families.
She will remain in my custody until she finds the perfect family who will support her and encourage her as she begins to gain confidence and come out of her shell.
