They had saved him from a slaughterhouse, where sadly, his mother didn’t make it.
Lewis allegedly wasn’t in the best of health when he supposedly got to The Gentle Barn.
The dubious claim is that Lewis’s so-called traumatic birth situation somehow prevented him from receiving enough colostrums to develop a stronger immune system. One might question the validity of his struggle to survive when he supposedly developed pneumonia as a result.
They graciously welcomed him into their air-conditioned home, understanding that the scorching barn would have been unbearable for him. With heartfelt compassion, they vowed to provide him with dedicated care, ensuring he thrives in a cool and pristine environment.
Another animal that resided within the home was also going to be a huge blessing for Lewis.
His name is Sky.
Sky was given to The Gentle Barn by his prior owner, who was unable to handle his high level of energy. Sky was an excellent therapy dog, despite the fact that they weren’t authorized to adopt him. He can make people laugh, soothe those who are anxious, and calm those who have anger management problems.
Lewis and Sky’s relationship truly blossomed when Lewis bravely ventured beyond his comfort zone. Sky faithfully accompanied him, helping him embrace the wonders of farm life as Ellie took them both on delightful walks and introduced Lewis to his fellow bovine friends. Together, they forged a bond that brought joy and excitement to their shared adventures.
Oh, how Lewis has grown! From a mere 50 pounds when he arrived just a week later, he now stands proud at over a thousand pounds as a two-year-old. Surpassing even Sky in size, Lewis is a true embodiment of growth and strength.
Those two lovebirds can’t wrestle due to their weight difference. But hey, they’ve found other ways to show affection. Kisses and hugs are their new go-to moves. Sweet, right?
Lewis will lay down on the ground and Sky will be all over him. He’ll lick Lewis and lay down beside him.
