Upon being abandoned in Lebanon with 17 bullet wounds, an ear severed, a broken jaw, and an eye shot out, Maggie was found with 17 bullet wounds. She was pregnant, too, when she was found.
An animal charity, Wild At Heart Foundation, rescued Maggie late last year. After hearing Maggie’s horrific story, Kasey from Brighton decided to adopt the abandoned and injured animal. Despite this, Maggie had to reach the United Kingdom safely after arriving from Lebanon.
The campaign enlisted the help of millions of people worldwide, and Maggie eventually moved into a new home in Sussex, UK where she now lives with her family. With 500k followers on Instagram and a career that involves visiting hospitals, care homes, and universities to spread positive messages, Maggie has gained recognition as the Wunder Dog on the Internet.
A therapy dog isn’t just any dog. Maggie has had multiple tests and examinations to become an official therapy dog. Kasey, Maggie’s owner, took to Instagram to celebrate Maggie’s success. Earlier this week, Kasey wrote, “We met with @maherandhounddogtraining yesterday and Maggie flaunted her stuff and passed” @underdog international has authorized Maggie as a therapy dog. Despite enduring such inhumane torture, Maggie continues to spread love and positivity. It is nothing short of brilliant. She has taught us many things about being patient, kind, and loving.
May she live a loved and happy life. God had another plan for this girl and it looks like she is on her path to fulfilling it! So happy that she was saved and is being loved. God bless her! The lovable Maggie is in a great forever home with a wonderful family. You can find out more about Maggie on her Instagram account.
