Officer Christopher Bisceglia recognized something was wrong when a small dog was sobbing and tugging at his uniform while pointing in the direction of an officer. He took action because of the dog’s continuous barking.
Following the dog, the officer noticed something terrible had occurred. After crossing a vast vacant field, the dog stopped at an ice-covered, marshy embankment, begging the officer for help. An officer was startled when he discovered another Scottish terrier trapped and snowed in.
The siblings named Jacques and Annabelle, escaped their home when their elderly owner was taken to a hospital for an emergency, so the officer called for help from the fire department to save the dog. Annabelle slipped into the embankment shortly afterwards, causing Jacques to panic.
Both canines will be cared for by animal control until their owner returns from the hospital. Annabelle had some wounds, but she is doing fine. It would not have been possible for Annabelle to survive the frigid night without her doggie brother’s prompt offer to help, according to the animal control officer. Officer Bisceglia and Jacques are heroes.
