In spite of what many people believe are impossible odds, Sweet Jax survived his injuries. As a five-month-old Pit Bull puppy, he suffered injuries so severe that many people and dogs would have died without immediate medical care. His face and neck had been slashed, and his eyes were closed, and he was breathing heavily.
Although it didn’t seem like Jax was alive, his tail was the only indication he was alive. Although his condition didn’t appear to be good, the vet told me that it is. He was stitched up, and Jax spent two weeks in intensive care receiving medical therapy as well as loving attention. The puppy’s will to live is reemerging, and he has completely recovered from near death. Jax has regained all of his strength!
In addition to raising awareness about the problem and documenting Jax’s recovery journey, the organization that is assisting Jax believes he may have been a victim of a dog fighting ring. In their message to us, they emphasize that if you see something, or if you suspect something, please report it. If we remain silent, nothing will be stopped.
We must ensure that dogs are not harmed by this despicable pastime. If Jax could fight so bravely to survive, then shouldn’t we?
