In most cases, we will never have any contact with wolves. After all, wolves are generally wary of humans unless they have been extensively acclimated. But for Andrey, it’s an everyday occurrence. Despite his age, he plays with a beautiful black wolf named Akela like a puppy. Andrey uploaded a video of himself and his dog hanging out, and it’s amazing to watch.
While they may be called “black wolves,” they are actually a darkly colored variant of the gray wolf species. They’re also fairly rare, as their coat color comes from a genetic mutation. Akela has been with Andrey since he was a puppy, and the two seem to have a close relationship. It’s unusual for us to encounter wolves, as they tend to be weary of humans.
As the video opens, Andrey poses with the big, beautiful wolf. Akela, who looks straight at the camera with glowing eyes and a gorgeous dark coat, looks gorgeous. Andrey’s dog companion then sniffs him long and nips at his ear affectionately. He even climbs on Andrey’s back, bites and pulls at the hoodie he’s wearing, and puts his paws on his arms.
Throughout the video, Akela continues to lick and nip at Andrey’s hood and face as he continues to be affectionate with him. Akela keeps licking and asking for even more affection as he hops on Andrey’s back. Andrey scratches him, and Akela continues to playfully leap.
Akela’s kind of play resembles brotherly roughhousing, and he is quite a large wolf. Not everyone would be willing to accept such purely primal behavior. This is incredibly endearing, but a bit intimidating at the same time. Nevertheless, wolves are pack animals, and it is clear that Akela is accepting Andrey as a member of his pack.
Akela is well taken care of by Andréy, and he even established a fundraiser so that he can provide proper accommodations and ensure that Akela is comfortable.
