Sasha Pesic, a dog rescuer who has rescued and provided care for homeless dogs for many years, is one of the few people who respect their selfless friendship. His shelter, which today houses 750 dogs, was opened in 2008 by one of Serbia’s most prominent animal rights activists.
Pesic’s story began the next year, when he was driving home and came upon four abandoned puppies. He couldn’t stop himself from wanting to save them, and despite his limited financial means, he began to put up a plan to help them. Providing a home and food for the animals, Sasha started her shelter with the help of six volunteers, and with contributions from all over the world, she has managed to keep it running. All the animals he cares for are named by him, vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipged.
With over 400 dogs adopted around the world, Sasha has saved over 1,200 dogs. He is an unquestionable role model for people everywhere.
