Dogs and cats can get along fine despite their contrasting personalities. In fact, most of the time they avoid each other to avoid conflict. However, this video shows that the idea of enmity between these two animals is overblown.
An unanticipated duo was discovered by a Turkish woman walking by a river- a dog helping a drowning cat! She came upon the scene and tried to save the cat, but was stopped by a nearby dog wading into the water. In the midst of filming, a heartwarming moment unfolded. As the worried dog reached down to check on the cat, the cat extended its paws to him and begged him for help. The dog dived into the water and rescued her immediately.
In order to pick the cat up on his back, the dog went underwater and positioned his body. Then, he transports her to the shore and helps her move to safety. After rescuing the cat, he struggled to get out of the water, but thankfully he was steady on land after a few seconds. This video of a dog’s selfless act went viral on social media, and not only touched millions of hearts, but also divided them. Some called the woman who filmed shallow and insensitive for not putting down her phone, while others disagreed that she should have helped instead.
It’s been argued that the woman was distracted by filming instead of assisting the cat. The decision is supported by many, who believe animals become stronger when they are left to solve problems without human assistance. Which side do you agree with? Let us know in the comments below.
