There is nothing more caring and protective than a dog. Whenever their friends or loved ones are in danger, they can always be counted on to protect them.
The story of Bella, the dog who fought off a coyote to save her best friend’s life.
Tasa, a border collie, and Bella, a dogo argento, are neighbors and inseparable friends: “They’ve been friends for a while now,” Tasa’s owner Spencer Williams told Click2Houston.
After Bella rushed into danger to save Tasa on Thanksgiving 2019, these dogs showed just how ride or die their friendship was.
At 2:30 in the morning, Bella’s owner Michael Cobb discovered his dog barking and scratching at the window. Assuming Bella wanted to chase a deer, he let her outside.
However, Cobb soon realized that Bella was not after deer, but a pack of coyotes that had been chasing Tasa. During the chase, Tasa broke through her invisible fence collar, limping and bleeding.
As a result of Bella and her owner scaring away the coyotes, Tasa was finally safe. Things could have gone much worse, but fortunately 116-pound Bella rushed to Tasa’s aid.
It probably wouldn’t have been looking good for her if it hadn’t been for Bella, Spencer Willams told Click2Houston. We probably wouldn’t have woken up and she wouldn’t have been here.”
After being bitten by a coyote, Tasa suffered a swollen paw and tooth holes that were filled with antibiotics and pain medication.
Knowing your best friend and neighbor has your back is always a great feeling. This is a true friendship – we’re so glad Bella saved Tasa’s life.
