As described by the Romanian rescue, Bobi is 9 years old, weighs 18 kg (39 lbs), and is “loving, gentle and obedient. He is playful and curious. It is like he is reliving puppyhood now.” In addition, they wrote, “The owner of Bobi (this is his name) told us that Bobi ran away from home and traveled quite a distance, being found approximately 10 miles away.
“We’ll never know why he left home and why he wasn’t wanted anymore, but we don’t want to judge anyone. All we want to do is express our gratitude for saving him.” As soon as they discovered he was microchipped and owned, they immediately took him to the veterinarian.
“After contacting the registered owner, we hoped a happy dog-owner reunion would ensue, but he told us he did not want his dog back and asked us to take him,” Howl of a Dog said. They followed the old dog as he ran near a railroad station, limping and with an injured left eye. They were afraid that he would run and be hit by a passing train, so they diverted him to a safer area of the station.
After many attempts to approach him, he finally understood we were only trying to help him, or perhaps the aroma of the yummy treats finally reached his nose.”
