Due to their ability to survive even the most dangerous situations, cats are said to have nine lives.
According to one story, a cat was rescued “against all odds” after becoming stuck on a ledge above a busy highway.
San Antonio Animal Care Services posted a Facebook post about a cat trapped on an interstate overpass and unable to escape, according to Animal Care Officer Tutak and Animal Care Sergeant Flores.
When they arrived on the scene, they found the “stunt devil” cat lying on the edge of the overpass and had to be careful not to scare him or he might jump.
Initially, the cat didn’t trust the officers, but warmed up to them once he realized they were there to help.
A veterinarian transported the cat, now named Bridges, to the Animal Emergency Room. The Facebook post states that Bridges had an upper respiratory infection, but was otherwise in good health when he was offered food and water.
As soon as he was cleared of any medical concerns, he was transported back to Animal Care Services for “further love and care.”
As of now, he is resting and feeling more like himself in our adoptable cat building, according to ACS.
Bridges is now available for adoption, according to the department. In addition, they thanked Officer Tutak and Sergeant Flores for saving the cat’s life.
