Despite the fact that her Husky vanished out of nowhere, Kameroun Mares never gave up hope and continued to look for him after more than two years. Thankfully, her tale ended happily!
In the days when Kameroun was battling her horrifying kind of cancer, her animal friend Semper Fidelis was all she needed to feel better when she was introduced to him. The dog’s moniker, which translates from Latin as “always faithful,” is a reflection of his loyal and endearing personality. Kameroun dreamed of him as her dog.
In 2016, a dreadful tragedy struck the adorable couple. Although Kameroun was inseparable from her puppy, she left him with her roommate when she moved to California for treatment because it was extremely difficult for her to bring him with her. Unfortunately, she was informed a short time later that Semper had left. She was in shock.
As you could expect, Kameroun made every effort to locate the Culprit. She posted fliers across the city, asked friends and neighbors for assistance, and shared Internet ads in an attempt to find Semper, but he was nowhere to be found. The wife, however, did not give up searching for him and eventually hired a private investigator. At this point, things began to change in an odd way.
As Kameroun told the Dodo, while in California, he was missing for a year. He was placed on pet websites, he was contacted by fifteen veterinarians in the area where he used to live, he was contacted by humane organizations, and he found shelter. “When [I] asked Ana Campos for more assistance, she offered to recheck her AKC Reunite chip. Prior to arriving in May 2017, the Humane Society checked online… She found that a woman had put her name on Semper’s chip a year earlier, on April 11, 2016.
Apparently, he was microchipped a second time without first having his microchip checked. After more than two years of tears and hope, Kameroun and Semper are ready to reunite in a deeply touching reunion after being sold online for $200. This is the reason no one has been able to locate him.
In Kameroun’s words, “I look at it as an extension of myself and my emotions.” “I am so glad to have him back!”
