There are times when animals get stuck in some pretty tricky places and need some human assistance. An owner and his dog reunited recently after firefighters saved a dog from a drain system.
The story was shared by Cobby County Fire & Emergency Services in Cobb County, Georgia. Trixie, a dog whose owner drives a truck, decided to explore a new area after stopping at a pit stop.
Seeing his beloved traveling companion trapped like that must have been terrifying for the owner. But thankfully, help arrived quickly. A firefighter was lowered into the drain system by Cobb County Engine 9C and Squad 7C, who lowered an air monitor and set up a rope system.
Thankfully, the mission was a success, and the department says that poor Trixie was “happy to be rescued” and came right to the firefighter, and the two were then “hoisted out of the hole.”
“After a quick visit to the vet, we hear that Trixie is a little banged up, but she will be okay,” Cobby County Fire wrote.
The moment Trixie was reunited with her owner is captured in this photo. It is no doubt a relieved owner to have Trixie back in his arms after being separated from her:
People thanked the firefighters for saving Trixie after sharing the story on social media.
“Awesome job CCFD and all who helped reunite Trixie with her owner!” one person wrote.
“That poor baby!! So glad they were able to save her! Looks like dad had a rough day too!” another commented.
This truck driver loves his dog very much, and we’re sure that losing Trixie like that must’ve been terrifying for him. But fortunately, the firefighters were able to reunite them.
