Hannah Falk enlists in the army and is assigned to military training in Oklahoma when she turns 21. That is when Buddy, a 13-year-old puppy, spends his life with Hannah.
In the months following the adoption of Buddy, her retriever, and Derby, her horse, Hannah was heartbroken at leaving them behind. Upon returning home for Christmas break, Hannah wanted to see Buddy. Buddy, who Hannah adopted as a puppy, is now mostly deaf and has arthritis since she is so old. In fact, when Hannah started crying, she embraced Hannah, as if she had not seen her for years.
In this story, we see that dogs are among the most loyal animals on earth. In some cases, they might even be more loyal than some humans.Â
